“Forgive us”, they said. “But as you can see, we are just now entirely busy being roses”.
- Mary Oliver
the Story
Bringing organic elements of nature indoors curates home surroundings, bringing together a space that is textural, layered, and storied. Flowers and foliage introduce seasonality into decor, delivering an ever changing, nesting experience when arranged and settled into any room.
When Floral Designer Kylee Taylor began with a love of flowers and a passion for interior design, she craved to blend the two, knowing they cannot be separated from one another. Look in any design magazine, book, watch design shows - you can spot foliage and/or flowers being the final touch of warmth to any look - nature has a way of softening a room’s hard edges, giving it a lived in and inviting feel, contributing life and movement in a way that is hard to introduce with any other accessories, textiles, or functional elements.
For many of us, externally nesting in our home environments is a ritual that brings internal calm and joy, resulting in a place we want to relax and spend time in both by ourselves and with those we care about. Deeply wishing for all others that their home could also become their exhale, Wild Nest Floral Co. organically unfolded to invite a little bit of natural Wild into the Nests of others.
Whether you are in your forever dream home, or your home is just right for now, flowers and foliage invite us to love the home that we are in today, bringing us comfort and no doubt an impact on our mood when greeted by an arrangement on the table, flowers in the kitchen, or greenery in the living room. There is no room in the house that wouldn’t be more inviting with a little bit of unpolished, natural texture - whether you choose a small casual detail, or a statement sized piece, Kylee designs with heartfelt intentionally to bring beauty into your home.
the Designer
Wild Nest Floral Co. designs are influenced from Kylee’s floral design education from the University of the Fraser Valley, Natural Floral Design training with author Erin Benzakein and team Floret, and favourite interior design teams like Amber Interiors, Studio McGee, Heidi Caillier, Magnolia, and DeVOL. She loves styling interior florals and sourcing beautiful vases and vessels that customers will want to keep afterward for bookshelf, countertop, and tabletop accents. In her downtime, Kylee can be found foraging for ingredients in nature with her dog Ottis, who melts the hearts of many customers with his gentle Saint Bernard charm. She also loves to spend time undertaking home renovations that can be seen in the background of her floral photography, and to finish the look can be found with a latte in hand wandering through her favourite interior design shops in Victoria BC. Her studio is located on her home property along quaint Telegraph Road amongst other shops and wineries, which resulted in customers organically beginning to “stop by” to place their floral orders and pick up a hand-tie, growing into what Wild Nest Floral Co. has become today.
